Christmas wreath

I've shared with you about how my mother-in-law LOVED to max out decorate for any and every occasion. And I told you about the wreaths I made for dad to put on her grave for spring and fall. I made one in late Nov. for Christmas. Oh did mom like to decorate for Christmas. Even the door knobs on her kitchen cupboards held little ornaments! Their tree was totally green, red and white. Green tree. White lights. And red ornaments. Often three of them, different shapes and sizes, on every single branch!
So I wanted to keep with those colors for the wreath. Did I want to put bulbs on it? My decision was made after looking for something in the basement and coming across some of the roses I had used for decorating Brent and Kayla's wedding. Those kind of roses could look beautiful on a wreath!
Amy took me to Hobby Lobby and I went looking/plotting. I bought a large sized wire wreath frame, two ropes of green garland, 5 or 6 pine cones springs, and a couple of bunches of the red roses that have the little white flowers (like baby's breath) attached, and some red and white checked ribbon for a bow.
At home, I found that if I take the back cushions off of the blue couch and put one on an angle at one end, it gives me the perfect angle at which to have lots of lap room to work, room to spread out my 'supplies' and is set up so I can watch a movie at the same time. :-D
I was thrilled with how it turned out!!! I had promised to let Amy see it before I took it to Dad's (I had forgot to show her the fall one). Her and her daughters response was very encouraging. Then she paid me the ultimate compliment. She wanted to know how much it would cost for me to make one exactly like it for her mom. She wanted to give it to her as a Christmas gift.
Her mom too is an 'extreme' decorator. I made it so they could take it with them on Thanksgiving, so her mom could have it hanging all of Dec. if she so chose. Her mom liked it so much, she sent me a thank-you card. (Yes, Amy paid me for it). :->
This then is a picture of the wreaths (yes, they did turn out exactly alike).
Benson, thank-you for taking the picture for me!
