The title of Chapter Three (3) in the book, "PRETTY NEAT - the buttoned-up way to get organized and let go of perfection" (which was co-authored by Alicia Rockmore and Sarah Welch, from 'Get Buttoned Up' ), is:
"DELEGATE LIKE A MASTER"
Today's exert comes from page thirty five (35), the second to the last paragraph on the page.
"When delegating a task to someone else and agreeing to let go of the results, it's important to know what you're getting in return. This often motivates people to get over the hump and into the groove of making delegation part of their daily routine."
Several points jumped out at me from that little paragraph.
First off, "delegating a task to someone else". Getting help with our "to-do" lists sure makes them much more accomplish-able, doesn't it?
The thing is, EVERYBODY has their own "to-do" lists .... Sometimes adding this errand of yours in with theirs, while you take over this at home task of theirs, makes things ever so much easier to accomplish!
Second thing. "Agreeing to let go of the results". That's not always easy to do, is it? I bet they talk about that more in this chapter! I have found when "delegating", that the end result comes out better when you offer guide lines, but then you really do have to let go. NOT ALWAYS EASY! Looking forward to reading their in-put on this!
Third thing - "what you're getting in return". I bet they go into this too. I know that one of the things you'd be getting, is the ability to put a 'finished' line through more items on your list! :-)
Fourthly, "making delegation part of their daily routine". Not just delegating once in a while, but on a daily basis. Most of us do delegate here and there. But 'on a daily basis'? That's another thing all together. But a good thing.
What are some of the ways (or tasks) that you delegate to help you make your own list actually accomplish-able? Tell us about them! Remember, "The reader who submits the best tip ("organizational tip or short cut") across all participating blogs will also win $250.00."
Or... leave an "organization tip or short-cut" (comment) about something totally different than what today's 'tidbit' is about. We just ask that you PLEASE leave one! o;-p

Reminder: use the "link" in the side bar of our blog, to go back to the original posting which introduced this book and the connected drawings. Then, leave your "organization tip or short-cut" (comment) under that posting. That way it will be counted for our overall number, and they will be sure and find it to consider it in drawing #2. :-) Thanks!!! ;->
