The title of Chapter Seven (7) in the book, "PRETTY NEAT - the buttoned-up way to get organized and let go of perfection" (which was co-authored by Alicia Rockmore and Sarah Welch, from 'Get Buttoned Up' ), is:
"WRANGLE THOSE FAMILY SCHEDULES"
Today's exerts come from a couple of different pages. I pointed here, but only wanted to use part of it. And then the same thing happened .... :-)
page seventy nine (79), first part of the very first paragraph: "Cram-packed schedules are something that literally everybody experiences. Your life, as you know, is much to busy."
[ actually, mine is much to dizzy. o;-p]
page seventy nine (79), the second paragraph: "We call this "scheduled madness". And based on the hundreds of interviews we conducted with people, most of us have it bad."
and then, page eighty one (81), the first three fourths of the last paragraph: "If your frustrated with your current approach to scheduling, the crucial question to ask yourself is: What do I change? Admittedly, when you're out of scheduling sorts, that question is easily answered. Why? Because you're too busy chasing your tail to stop and see the forest for the trees. A great way to get some perspective is to think about your most significant scheduling pain points. Are they related to communication with others, complexity and overload?"
I like how the authors chose the word 'wrangle' to describe what you have to do to get control over your families schedule. Very appropriate description, right?
I previously posted the method that I implemented for keeping track of all of our schedules. You can see and read all about it HERE.
Do you use a methodology? Does it actually work for you? If so, PLEASE tell us all about it!!! (It just might win you $250!!) If your method doesn't work real good for you, then we'd highly suggest that you work and tweak, until you find one that does! The 'having a clue what's going on' is so-o-o worth the effort!!!
Or you could leave an "organization tip or short-cut" (comment) about something totally different than what today's 'tidbit' is about. o;-p

Reminder: use the "link" in the side bar of our blog, to go back to the original posting which introduced this book and the connected drawings. Then, leave your "organization tip or short-cut" (comment) under that posting. That way it will be counted for our overall number, and they will be sure and find it to consider it in drawing #2. :-) Thanks!!! ;->
