The advances that modern medicine has made!
I had the follow-up appointment with my heart specialist today. Last month they had done another follow-up echograhm (?) [an ultra-sound of your heart]. The heart specialist told me that he is removing me from his list of patients. All the way along, my challenges really have been hormonal related, not the beginning of some type of heart disease. Thank-you Lord!
Yes, my hormonal issues continue. By-weekly, with e-x-t-r-e-m-e cramping .... but this posting is about what I'm thankful for.
I am thankful that God has allowed the medical scientific field to make the kind of advances where they can do ultra sounds and X-rays of various parts of your body, and thus get a clearer picture of what the problems are or aren't.
I am thankful that they have advanced so far that now-a-days, with early detection of lots of types of cancer, there is a good survival rate.
I am thankful that they have made such advances with artificial joint replacements, that many a person can live relatively 'normal' lives now-a-days, even though their own joint totally deteriorated.
I am thankful that they have been able to develop medications, such as in-hailers for asthmatic patients, and hormonal and/or nerve help for menopausal women, and joint pain relief for those who struggle with bad arthritis, and the list goes on and on and on.
I am thankful that they have advanced enough to know that their 'bleeding people' was often the final straw in a person's case. Along with other weird beliefs they use to have and practice.
All in all, I am very thankful for the advances that modern medicine has made!
